The Shaman

Meet our Shaman

Segundo Putapana Silvano

At Macas House we are very fortunate to possess the services of our very own shaman, Segundo Putapana Silvano.

Segundo originally hails from the indigenous tribal group, the Tupi (now known as the Kukamas Tribe) and has been practising traditional Amazonian medicine since the age of 18.

He began learning his craft in the depths of the jungle, surrounded by the spirits and masters of the rainforest which helped guide his learning and passion to help people with illness and spiritual problems.

Today, with nearly a quarter of a century’s experience as a Master of plant medicine, our Shaman has a deep understanding of the Rainforest’s many different curative plants which may in turn provide psychotropic effects, boost the body’s immune system, act as anti-cancer treatments or just general wellbeing medicinal herbs.

As well as plant medicine, our Shaman is also an expert in Kambo rituals and is an active member of the Palomino Project, an organisation dedicated to the accumulation and conservation of indigenous knowledge, medicinal plants and traditional methods of use, as well as preservation and protection of the natural environment and its wildlife.

Segundo is a huge part of the Macas House family and his standing as one of the foremost Ayahuasca Masters, gives us the confidence to know that he will offer our guests an outstanding service with regards to medicinal plants, Ayahuasca ceremonies, life counselling and spiritual advice.
